Charnwood Systems: a shopfront built for speed, reach, and reliability

Charnwood Systems had no website and no way to receive enquiries online. We became our own first client and built charnwoodsystems.io through our own engagement methodology. The result is a six-page site that is lightning fast, reliable, and low cost to operate, with sub-second page loads and a score of 100 out of 100 on every Google Lighthouse metric (the industry standard for measuring website quality).

Before

A consulting business without a website has a practical problem: when someone hears about you through a referral, there is nowhere for them to go. No site to look at, no work to evaluate, no way to get in touch except an email address or a forwarded mobile number.

Charnwood Systems started from that position. The business had an ABN, a registered domain, and a postal address, but no website, no hosting, and no enquiry form. If a referral did come through, there would be nowhere to direct them.

During

We ran the project through the same structured engagement process we offer paying clients. The work began with an assessment of what the site needed to accomplish: who would visit, what each visitor type needed to find, and what would make the site credible to both a commercial buyer and a technical collaborator.

Design translated that assessment into a complete site structure. Every page was built around a single purpose and a single primary action. The full visitor journey was mapped and reviewed before production began.

The build delivered the site itself, tested from day one. Every page, every form, and every interaction was validated against the original requirements. The project produced the same deliverables any paying client would receive.

After

The site scores 100 out of 100 on every Google Lighthouse metric: Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices, and SEO (excluding the one deprecated API used by LinkedIn tracking scripts). Pages load in under a second from Perth to Sydney, and each page weighs roughly one-sixteenth of the average web page.

The site covers six pages with two enquiry forms that work regardless of browser settings, including browsers with JavaScript disabled. Every visitor can reach the business, whether they are on a current phone, an older laptop, or a locked-down corporate browser.
